Contraindications - uses to avoid
Laser therapy is safe and effective when used by a professional, such as your veterinarian, for its intended purposes. Contraindications are situations or illnesses in which laser therapy either has a negative effect, unknown effect, or just simply not advised, approved, or recommended for safety purposes. These include:
- pregnant pet
- Cancer or growth
- Actively bleeding site (unless bleeding stops)
- Areas in and around the eyes
- With or after steroid use
- pregnant technician administering the laser therapy
- Other common sense safety precautions may apply at veterinarians discretion
- Your veterinarian will let you know if there are others
