Blood screens/tests provide your veterinarian with essential knowledge of your pet's unique blood chemistry, blood count, and more. This information gives a snapshot of your pet's health and function of internal organs (liver, kidney, heart, gall bladder, spleen, glands, and more). Blood tests may even detect cancers in early form. Early detection of internal diseases or failing organs can help your veterinarian put your pet on a new path of treatment that saves and extends your pet's life.
Urinalysis - Urine Analysis checks your pet's kidneys functionality in more depth. Your pet's kidneys do the important and tireless job of filtering out toxic contents produced as byproducts of the normal chemical process of the body. With a urinalysis, your veterinarian is able to know if your pet's kidneys are functioning correctly and if not, what treatment to recommend that would improve your pet's health with the goal of extending your pet's life.
Fecal Analysis - check for common but dangerous parasites that may also be communicable to humans. Intestinal parasites include: tapeworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm.
"As a veterinarian, I strongly recommend and advocate these tests as routine on behalf of your pet. Proactive instead of reactive (before clinical signs appear) is the best approach to medicine. Owners can be mindful of their pet's health risks and be able to make better health and lifestyle choices on behalf of their pets."
